Total prize fund CHF 23'500.-

This competition is an FAI event (class 1 + 5) and open for all pilots with the corresponding flying license.

2,200m above Fiesch surrounded by wonderful scenery 150 pilots will attend a unique competition – the Fiesch Open 2011. They will launch one after the other in a predefined sequence organized in five lines. After launching pilots will seek for the thermal lift to rise right above the launching spot. Afterwards, there will be starting windows every 15 minutes each. Within this time pilots are supposed to start in the air and fly towards the first waypoint. As they reach the first waypoint, they move on to the second one and so on, until they reach the goal in Ulrichen. The pilot managing the full task within the shortest time is the task winner. The competition lasts over four days with one flight a day, which means that there will be 4 tasks in total. We plan to provide some of the pilots with a special electronic system so that we can follow the fight of the giants from the ground watching the screen – even when they get out of the sight flying beyond the horizon.

	There will be a Fiesch Open ranking rigid       prize fund CHF 9840.- (if there are at least 30 participants). *1. 	There will be a Fiesch Open light ranking for up-and-coming delta-pilots       prize fund CHF 1690.-.
